Board of Directors
The Board of Directors oversees the operation of the Irish Franchise Association and is made up of members of the Association.
David Killeen is managing partner of Killeen & Associates, franchise specialists. He holds a B.Comm from UCD, Diploma in Strategic Planning through the IMI and is a graduate member of the IITD. Killeen & Associates provide a complete consultancy services to businesses considering franchising as a possible strategy to scale their business domestically and/or internationally. In addition they provide unbiased best practice advice to prospective franchisees in advance of them buying into an established franchise.
Tom Shanahan is a Director and Co – owner of Kendlebell in Ireland. He has a BBS from Trinity, is a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Tom qualified as a chartered accountant in KPMG.
Andy Hennessy and his business partner Gerry Riordan were granted the rights as National Master Franchisor for Fastway Couriers in Ireland at the end of 2000. Fastway Couriers have a full complement of 9 Regional Franchisees and an ever increasing number of Courier Franchisees which in 2008 is in excess of 120, operating throughout the 32 counties of Ireland.
John Green is master franchisor, Ireland, for Chem-Dry carpet & upholstery cleaning franchise. Together with his brother Pat, he acquired the licence in 1989 and currently has 47 franchisees operating across the country.
Barry Griffin is Financial Controller of Motivation Weight Management Clinics. Motivation holds the master franchise rights for Ireland and also operate ten company owned clinics. He holds a BBS from Waterford Institute of Technology and qualified as a chartered accountant with MGI Copsey Murray in 2005.
Helen has completed her BA (Hons) in Business Studies on a high note with a National Irish Marketing Award for excellence. She also holds qualifications and membership of the PRII and MII. After a prolific career in marketing and PR working in-house with companies in Ireland and Europe, she set up and built PR1 in 2003 to be a successful Public Relations Consultancy specialising in both consumer and corporate PR and events. Helen has recently started guest lecturing on the subjects of marketing, event management and PR.
Alison McGinley is Director of TaxAssist Accountants a franchise with 27 outlets in Ireland. Alison has BSF from Trinity and is a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
Karl Fitzpatrick is the Master Franchisee of Bricks 4 Kidz in Ireland. Bricks 4 Kidz is the world’s leader in the provision of educational play programmes for children. This franchise very much compliments Karl’s experience within the education sector, where he is the Managing Director of Chevron Training & Recruitment, one of Ireland’s largest private training providers. Karl is also the President of Wexford Chamber of Commerce and the presenter of Business Matters, South East Radio’s flagship business programme.
